About
The Production
Back in December of 2021, our Maryland based Christian drama team performed a Christmas production titled 'A Christian Carol' inspired, of course, by the beloved classic 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. Thanks to some technical difficulties at the performance and a recording that was much less than what we had hoped for, we decided to chart new territory and revamp the stage production into a short movie.
The Process
I, the writer and director, knew little of what I was leading our team into. I have extensive knowledge of stage performances, but knew nothing of filmmaking. However, thanks to the grace & strength of Christ, a very patient & gracious team of actors, backstage assistants, hosts, and crew members, we managed to complete the filming process in six Sundays spread over four months. A summer of rest and another year of editing, learning as I went, we finally made it to the finish line in October of 2023. It has been a long time coming, but we are so glad it is finally finished!
The Prayer
What Charles Dickens missed when writing 'A Christmas Carol' is that it is not Christmas that changes one's heart, but He who is the Founder of Christmas, Jesus Christ. We pray that you are blessed by our little film as you join us in seeking He who reigns over all Christmases:
